DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 954 begins at a junction with US 61 approximately 1 mile south of the City of Maquoketa and travels northerly to the south corporation line of the City of Maquoketa, beginning again at the north corporation line of the City of Maquoketa traveling northwesterly to the east corporation line of the City of Hurstville.

Transfer of Jurisdiction Agreement Number TJ‑954‑0 (2)‑2M‑49, between the Iowa Department of Transportation and Jackson County, transferred the portion of Unsigned Iowa 954 from the north corporation line of the City of Maquoketa northwesterly to the east corporation line of the City of Hurstville to County Jurisdiction on October 3, 1984. To reflect this change of jurisdiction the official description of Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County should be revised and the new description officially included in the Primary Road System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve revising the description of Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County and including the new description in the Primary Road System.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County as follows:

Beginning approximately 802 feet south of the NW Corner Section 31‑T84N‑R3E (junction US 61); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 31 and 30‑T84N‑R3E to the south corporation limits of the City of Maquoketa connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation limits of the City of Maquoketa connecting with an unnamed street; thence northwesterly through Section 13-834N‑R2E to the east corporation limits of the City of Hurstville connecting with an unnamed street.

Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County, Iowa should be officially included in the State Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Beginning approximately 802 feet south of the NW Corner Section 31‑T84N‑R3E north along Sections 31 and 30‑T84N‑R3E to the south corporation limits of the City of Maquoketa connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation limits of the City of Maquoketa, connecting with unnamed street following northwesterly to the east corporation limits of the City of Hurstville connecting with unnamed street.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 954 in Jackson County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
